Giuseppe Stefanelli, born in the 1946, earned his diploma at the Brera “Belle Arti” Academy. He began to exhibit in 1971 by accumulating significant experience: from the technique/ pictorial youthful training with Pippo Spinoccia, through courses at the “Scuola degli Artefici”, his advanced studies of art critics with Raffaele De Grada during his academic studies, till his encounter with the aesthetic/ design dimension of Bruno Munari and Roberto Sambonet. This friendship spurred and convinced Stefanelli to have his first personal art exhibition in 1982.

Then comes his fruitful collaboration with art critic Patrizia Serra, founder of the “Spazio Temporaneo” art gallery in Milan, that presented many personal exhibitions of the artist.
Stefanelli is a fencing maestro too. He won two world championships in this discipline and he collaborated with Rudolph Nureyev in the setting-up of the choreographies of the duels in “Romeo e Giulietta”, staged in Teatro alla Scala in Milan in 1981.

Stefanelli’s art path starts from a solid figurative base to reach an informal/material dimension. His research has been centred on the relationship between the writing structure linked with the rhythmic execution gesture and the lyric dimension in the pictorial area rarefied space, for several years now.

He has been giving classes of painting and composition since the 80s, where the anti-academic methods are based on the dimensions group relationship. The results have brought several collective exhibitions to life.

Stefanelli’s works are parts of public and private collections in Italy and abroad.
